Karim Vionnet - Du Beur Beaujolais 2021
Beaujolais | red, dry |
Very pleasant, velvety red. As already evident from the label, drinking Du Beur Beaujolais is a joy and a pleasure.
The grapes are from in over 40-year-old vineyards formerly owned by winemaking legend Jules Chauvet. Karim, the rising star of Beaujolais, took on the vineyards with love and humility. And guess what, this Gamay is energic, delicate and elegant with a strong fruit flavor.

Labels with the words "Du Beur dans les Pinards" ("Arab in your wine") reveal the North African roots of Karim Vionett, who was close to wine since he was a little boy and earned his pocket money by working in the neighbor's vineyards. Although he originally became a baker, his passion for winemaking grew, so over the years he started working for legendary winemakers such as Guy Breton and Marcel Lapierre, who began a natural wine revolution in the Beaujolais region with few others. Karim has been developing their philosophy since 2006 in his own vineyard at Villié-Morgon, where he praises hard work in the vineyard, a minimalist approach in the cellar and the same goes for his lifestyle which sums up in a few words: respect for nature, passion and family.
