Raccaro

Raccaro

Dario follows a family story that began in 1928.

His grandfather bought a farm near the town of Cormons in the Italian province of Gorizia. His father then started winemaking at the same place, and Dario, who sacrificed his basketball career in the 1980s, expanded the production with old vineyards and turned the farm into a real winery. His sons Paolo and Luca do most of work today. They avoid modern trends and do not listen to the market often. Perhaps that's why Dario became one of the most important wine figures in the province. Each of Raccaro's bottles is proof that there is no need for large wineries, but small honest winemakers. The year 2008 was especially successful for Raccaro - Their Friulano won the title of the best white wine in Italy in Gambero Rosso magazine.
