Oveja - Naranja 2023

Let us tell you, this is not beginner's orange wine. It has an unusual aroma and packs a solid dose of tannins. In fact, it was macerated for a whopping four months and one day. In Naranja, you'll find a whole lot stuff: candied stone fruits, quinces, herbs... you name it. Definitely a genre enthusiasts material!

The sheep on the label not only represent the heritage of Castile, which has a strong historical connection to shepherding, but also an honest approach to winemaking and agriculture.

A group from the Pyrenean Peninsula made up of growers, winemakers, and Masters of Wine, who all share a vision for authentic and sustainable winemaking in Spain. Most of their wines come from Castilla, which is in central Spain, but they’re sourced from vineyards situated at high altitudes on limestone and sandy clay soils, and they follow organic farming practices. What matters most to them is the character and purity of their wines, and they place a strong emphasis on the ecological aspect of their work.
Years ago, they were founding members of the “Wineries for Climate Protection” association, which aims to focus on renewable resources and reduce energy and water consumption, waste production, and CO2 emissions. One of the main faces of the Peninsula, Sam Harrop MW, co-authored the book “Authentic Wine” with wine expert Jamie Goode, which still serves as an introduction to the world of chemical-free wines for many organic and natural winemakers today.
