Johannes Trapl says he works where heaven and earth meet.
However, the map shows the small village of Stixneusiedl in the Lower Austrian Carnuntum wine region, where Johannes returned in 2000 from a wine internship in California. At first he got to know the surrounding wineries and finally received from his father a half-hectare vineyard where he could do what he wanted - according to biodynamic principles and in cooperation with nature. His vineyards are literally alive, teeming with sheep and hens, and most of the work is done by Johannes and his wife Melanie, while precision and order reigns over the cellar. And the result? Unique wine in each barrel.
