Domaine Bornard - le Garde-corps 2018
Jura | červené, suché |
Kick-ass Trousseau.
We love all these exotic varieties from the Jura region, but even after the years we drink them, they can surprise us. Trousseau or Bastardo, as its called in Portugal, is very deep in color and is often used in the cuvée with Poulsard, which, on the other hand is pale and bit more shy. However, the year 2018 brought a beast, which has almost 15% alcohol, with a deep color and full body style. Well, every year you learn something new...
Tony is the proud and talented successor to his father, the well-known winemaker Philippe Bornard, and one of the most sought-after young winemakers in the Jura region
His valuable father's advice, a degree from a wine university, and an internship in Australia gave him a solid background for a winery of his own, which he founded in 2013 and merged with his father's land in his native Pupillin shortly afterwards. Tony's wines are backed by a traditional approach and at the same time made with the joy of experimentation. Tony's style is a little bit more funky than his father's.
