Domaine Bornard - Chardonnay Les Gaudrettes 2018
Jura | white, dry |
Uncompromisingly good Chardonnay from Jura.
Les Gaudrettes 2018 bears the subtitle "troisième tirage" which refers to the third bottling or batch of this great, fun wine from the smallest wine region of France. It is the first vintage purely under the supervision of Tony Bornard, who took over the winery in 2017 from his father Phillip. And if anything has changed, perhaps it's that the wines are even better!

Tony is the proud and talented successor to his father, the well-known winemaker Philippe Bornard, and one of the most sought-after young winemakers in the Jura region
His valuable father's advice, a degree from a wine university, and an internship in Australia gave him a solid background for a winery of his own, which he founded in 2013 and merged with his father's land in his native Pupillin shortly afterwards. Tony's wines are backed by a traditional approach and at the same time made with the joy of experimentation. Tony's style is a little bit more funky than his father's.
