2 Naturkinder (Franken)

Jewish studies and philosophy, several years abroad and finally a return to Germany, a wedding and 6 hectares of organic vineyards in the small Franconian town of Kitzingen. The story of Melanie Drese and Michael Völker began in 2013 - they converted some of Michael's parents' vineyards into an organic and produced the first natural wines from local varieties such as Sylvaner, Müller Thurgau, Bacchus and Regent. This couple follows a basic rule: nothing needs to be added to wine and nothing can be taken away. No sulfur, no filtration, only the character of the vineyard and variety. Although too radical for some German winemakers, their pét-nats (naturaly sparkling wines that still ferment in bottles) and other wines are enjoyed all over the world.
